About Blessing

The Journey of a Young Martial Artist

Blessing Mantebea Alornyo was born on November 10th, 2017, in Tarkwa Government Municipal hospital to Mr. Maxwell Thoedore Alornyo and Madam Grace Nyarko.

She began her early education with Montessori at Paradise Mission Academy and is currently a Basic Two student at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic School, Baatsona-Spintex Road, Accra. Her remarkable Taekwondo journey began at the incredibly young age of three (3) years in 2021. She trains with the Maxi-Lane Taekwondo Academy under the guidance of her father and coach, Master Maxwell Theodore Alornyo, a former Heavyweight Champion and National Head Coach. Through her indomitable spirit and dedication, she achieved the rank of Black Belt (Poom 2) at the tender age of six.
Major Achievements
  • Gold Medal in the Junior Poomsae category at the United Federation of Martial Arts, Ghana 2023.
  • 3rd Place at the 2nd Diaspora Taekwondo Open Championship.
  • Bronze Medal at the 13th Korean Ambassador’s Cup Taekwondo Championship (July 2023).
  • Bronze Medal at the 14th Korean Ambassador’s Cup Taekwondo Championship (July 2024).

Strength, Skill, and Mindset

Physical and Technical Strengths

Blessing’s athletic ability is often compared favorably to older athletes. She is remarkably flexible and agile, capable of a 180-degree split without difficulty. She possesses incredible stamina and endurance, along with amazing speed and power in her exhibition of kicks, punches, blocks, and strikes.

Her training extends beyond Taekwondo; she is also adept in kickboxing, aerobics, and weapon training, including the Bow (Long Stick), Yo (Short Stick), and Nunchucks.

Mental and Emotional Qualities

Her success is fueled by her determination and self-motivation. Mentally, Blessing is highly disciplined and focused, following instructions with precision. She demonstrates high confidence (often sparring with male opponents), and possesses remarkable resilience and perseverance.

Her exemplary qualities have been recognized by top officials, including Grandmaster Kim (8th-degree black belt and Secretary General of Ghana Taekwondo Federation), who noted her leadership skills, passion, and love for Martial Arts.


Future Aspirations and Call for Support

As a person, Blessing is highly religious and exhibits strong communication and teamwork skills. She aspires to be a productive citizen and champion for Ghana, Africa, and the world at large.
