Education and Professional Background
Maxwell Theodore Alornyo was born in Suhum to Mr. Samuel Okraku Mantey of Akropong Akuapem and Madam Josephine Atsor of Neefio, Suhum. His impressive academic journey showcases a strong commitment to professional growth:
- Early Education: Attended Presbyterian Basic School in Cape Coast and Chemu Secondary School, Tema.
- Teaching Certification: Trained as a professional teacher, earning a Certificate ‘A’ Honours from the Presbyterian Teacher Training College, Akropong Akuapim.
- Higher Education: Obtained an HND in Art from Takoradi Polytechnic, and later a B.A. Honours Degree in Arts from the University of Education, Winneba.
A Distinguished Taekwondo Career
Mr. Alornyo is recognized as an all-round sportsman, with a particular prowess in Taekwondo and the Art of Self-Defense. He has been an active practitioner since 1992.Elite Champion and Representative
- Black Belt Status: Currently holds a Fourth Degree Black Belt, internationally recognized by the World Taekwondo Federation (KUKKIWON), Korea.
- National Heavyweight Champion: Served as the Ghana Taekwondo National Team Heavyweight Champion from 1999 until 2011.
- International Experience: Represented Ghana in numerous high-profile events, including the 2004 Olympic Qualifiers in Egypt and the 9th and 10th All Africa Games.
Coaching and Leadership Roles
A committed coach and mentor, Maxwell Theodore Alornyo has focused on nurturing talent across various institutions:- Trained personnel of the Ghana Police Service for self-defense.
- Served as a Taekwondo teaching assistant at the University of Education, Winneba.
- Currently serves as an Executive Member of the Ghana Taekwondo Federation (GTF) Technical Committee.
- He is the current Ghana Taekwondo Federation National Male Team Coach.
